About the International Australian Labradoodle Association

The International Australian Labradoodle Association Inc. is a worldwide body formed to support the future of the Labradoodle and Australian Labradoodle and promote awareness of this breed of dogs globally. The IALA is focussed on promoting and nurturing the Labradoodle and Australian Labradoodle for future generations of doodle-lovers through the introduction of Health testing requirements and recommendations, DNA profiling and a pedigree database.

The IALA encourages you to browse this site to gain an appreciation of the amazing attributes of the Labradoodle and Australian Labradoodle and learn how the IALA plans to contribute to the Labradoodle and Australian Labradoodle 's success in the future.

The American Association, formally the ILA was incorporated in Hawaii, January 2004, with executive board members representing and residing in Holland, Hawaii, the UK, USA and Australia. Its purpose is to provide a central point of contact where Labradoodle and Australian Labradoodle organizations, breeders, owners and lovers may come together to discuss, share initiatives and foster harmonious relationships to further the future of the Labradoodle and Australian Labradoodle.

In 2006, the International Labradoodle Association (ILA) colloborated with the Labradoodle Association of Australia (LAA) to form a Global Organization, the International Australian Labradoodle Association (IALA), consisting of independent Regional Sister Associations each operating under the guidance of their own individual Code of Ethics and Elected Officers committed to the Labradoodle and Australian Labradoodle breed. The IALA is a global body of Sister Associations working together guided by high standards and ethical behavior in breeding.

These individual Regional Sister Associations include the:

Under each sister association, the IALA consists of owners of Labradoodles and Australian Labradoodles, and breeders of Labradoodles and Australian Labradoodles from around the world: the USA, Australia, Canada, Europe, New Zealand, and the Pacific. It is a global body committed to protecting the Labradoodle and Australian Labradoodle for future generations.

The IALA sister associations provide:
  • registration for all Labradoodles and Australian Labradoodles,
  • membership and support for owners of Labradoodles, Labradoodle breeders, owners of Australian Labradoodles, and Australian Labradoodle Breeders,
  • is working to serve as the parent organization to all top kennel clubs in their respective countries and,
  • offers a transparent pedigree and informational database to all members.

Special Needs, Special Kids

Also added to this site is a Forum in which you are invited to participate if you have an interest in kids with special needs. It is hoped that charitable organisations and individuals who hold this section of our community close to their hearts will find this forum useful as a meeting place to share resources and ideas. It is also hoped that breeders will find it a handy place to come together to offer donated puppies to families with special kids or to the organisations who train Labradoodles for those families.
